Here’s to strong women…

“Here’s to strong women…May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them”. A quote of unknown origin, yet so very powerful. As you can probably gather from the photo, it shows the four generations of women that span our family- My grandmother, my mother, myself, and my daughter. In most Italian families, the women (besides being amazing cooks) are taught to be strong willed, strong minded, and strong hearted. We are, in fact the heartbeat of our family; or the trunk, as my grandma always said. Managing our crazy families (I’ve never met an Italian with a calm one), hosting holiday gatherings, house parties, Sunday dinners, and putting nothing but love, good memories, and tradition on the table.

There are many things in life that money can’t buy. What has been passed down (and what will continue to be passed down) between these four generations and so on will be just that. Tradition, wisdom, love, and a whole bunch of really good recipes. It also has always been our job to keep it all together - even when everyone thinks it’ll just fall apart. I love the bond I share with my mom and grandma, and can’t wait to have the same with my little one ♛
