Houston, we have liftoff

Six years ago we made the biggest move of our lives.....a move that would not only enable both of us to grow career-wise, but ultimately propelled us to become who we are today. Besides my husband, I can’t think of one person that was on board with this move, including myself. Making a three year move to Houston was the scariest, riskiest, most adventurous and wild time of our lives; not to mention it fell within days after our engagement party and smack in the middle of wedding planning. But, that’s how timing works. We never looked back and are so glad we didn’t. I should have seen it then - that was the very beginning of what would be many risky uncertainties that living this entrepreneur lifestyle would ensue upon us. And boy, was it worth it. In those three years, as stressful as it was - between the constant traveling back and forth to NY for holidays, parties, dress fittings and meetings with our wedding vendors, coupled with the constant feeling of homesickness that I’d never felt before - ever, I finally realized exactly why we went. Chris was able to plant the little seeds that would grow to be his flourishing business a few years later, I was able to experience what life was like outside of New York, and we saved to have the wedding of our dreams. Making a one-way move across the country when you don’t know if you’re ever coming back is a feeling unlike no other; but we knew deep in our hearts this was only temporary. We are always thankful to the people who supported our journey, but more thankful to those who doubted us; for they gave us the motivation to succeed more than they’ll ever know ♛
